Amazon tightens requirements: From December 2024, sellers must provide a Declaration of Conformity or Safety Statement
Sellers on Amazon will face stricter product safety requirements from December. If you don’t have the necessary documents, we can help you prepare them.
Starting December 13, 2024, the new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) comes into effect, bringing significant changes for all Amazon sellers in the European market. In response, Amazon is tightening its internal rules and will require that every non-food product offered for sale be accompanied by proper documentation — in particular, a Declaration of Conformity or a Product Safety Statement.
Without these documents, your products may be blocked or removed from the platform. Amazon has also stated that these checks will apply not only to new listings but also to existing products. Sellers must ensure that their products meet traceability, labelling, and safety requirements as set out in the new regulation.
A Declaration of Conformity or Safety Statement is an official document in which the manufacturer or importer declares that the product is safe and complies with all relevant EU legislation. In practice, this means having technical documentation, clear product identification, responsible person contact information, and appropriate product labelling in the local language.
If you don’t have this documentation yet, we are ready to help. We will prepare the necessary Declaration of Conformity according to current legal requirements, ensure correct labelling, and draft the responsible person's contact details for your packaging and online listings — fully compliant with Amazon’s and the EU's expectations.
Don’t wait until Amazon blocks your products. Be proactive — contact us and we’ll take care of everything you need.
